Like a glass of fine whiskey or a piece of art, this book is best enjoyed slowly and with an open mind, contemplating the passages as they come. The main character is a young girl who overwhelmed with the expectations of the world towards her starts to fall into the confusion between reality and the projections of her own mind. We follow her throughout a number of years in her inner journey to make sense out of existence and its real purpose. As she loses grip of her reality and finds herself questioning its true nature, she is torn between the bright and the dark side of herself. This thought-provoking book will push the reader out of their comfort zone in a truly Lynchian style, being a playful labyrinth that is designed to let every reader interpret the events differently through the lens of their own personality and experience, as well as to make them question which of the events and to what extent happen in the actual reality of the main character and which only in her head. As the novel digs deep into lower and lower levels of consciousness, it continuously oscillates between hopeful and terrifying, drawing the reader deep into it's barely logical, dream-like world.
