About NO PEACE in QUIET (The Coriander Day and Johnny Walker Mysteries)

One of the greatest unsolved murder mysteries of the 20th century comes to life in this story of a clash between a small southern town and a nomadic clan in a Western Carolina mountain community. When a nomadic clan returns after a hasty exodus spurred by the death and disappearance of one of their own, local law enforcement of the nearby town of Quiet is not happy, especially when a young woman of the clan, Cori, ventures into the town population as a nurse in the local hospital. Suddenly, a series of mysterious deaths find their way to her hospital’s emergency room. When suspicion turns to Cori, the town hires a young anthropologist, Johnny, experienced in dangerous cult activities, to infiltrate the mountain clan and discover if Cori is to blame. He must balance his desire for peace and truth with his desire for Cori. She belongs to another world…and another man. Soon, Cori is no longer welcome with Clan or in the town of Quiet, and is being hunted by both. Johnny and Cori must rely on her keen senses and his down-to-earth logic to track down the killer as they become the prey. Set in the 1980s, the town of Quiet is anything but, as a small-town war escalates. With its colorful characters and Southern feel, this fast-paced debut novel will be perfect for readers of WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING.
