About Murder on the Fourteenth Tee - Book 3 of Jeremy Pendelton Murder Series

Ted Freed, new resident of the area and applicant for membership in the men's only Pheasant Hollow Golf Club in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is shot dead on the fourteenth tee during a complimentary round of golf offered all applicants. Jeremy Pendelton, newly employed reporter for the weekly False River Review, is on the case. He conducts an investigation, disguised as seeking a human interest story so as not to be seen as interfering with the authorities. His investigation takes him through the leadership of the country club to Chicago, Freed's place of employment for many years, where he learns of Freed's troubled past involving gambling debts to casinos and embezzlement. Suspects abound including the president of Freed's employer, Gaming Products, Inc., Eddie Corvacci, a Chicago mobster turned Baton Rouge philanthropist, Freed's own brother, Roger, suspected of being a psychopath, and Freed's fiancé, formerly his brother's girlfriend. As Jeremy gets deeper into the case the human interest ruse fools no one. He perceives threats to his safety from certain suspects. With danger closing in, Jeremy must rely on his instincts, wit and his relentless drive to find the truth. Murder on the Fourteenth Tee is the electrifying third installment in the Jeremy Pendelton Murder Series, but can be enjoyed as a standalone. Blending sharp investigative twists with suspense, P.M. Berk delivers a masterclasss in amateur sleuth crime fiction. Perfect for fans of Michael Connelly, James Patterson and Robert Crais who crave fast paced mysteries with gritty realism. Ideal for readers who love amateur sleuth thrillers, mob crime fiction, and whodunits with surprise twists.
