About Murder by Elf A Private Detective Darby Weston Thriller

Sex, murder, and roller coasters. A popular theme park run by a shadowy Mafia-like organization? Is nothing sacred anymore? Private detective Darby Weston was a theme park junkie. He had visited theme parks all around the world. California, Florida, Australia, Paris, Tokyo. But that was just for fun. Now it's purely business. The murder solving business. Staff members are getting knocked off at the park, and nobody knows why. Whatever they're hiding at The Holiday Planet Resort, they're willing to kill over it. It's a bloody nightmare. A SAMPLE FROM THE BOOK [Spoiler alert: Nothing is what it seems at this mega park resort.]: Place: The Tunnel of Love ride. Time: 12:06 a.m., after the giant indoor theme park has closed for the night. Detective Darby Weston and and his new squeeze Carissa are kissing on a fake hillside beside the ride's boats. She's the prime suspect's housekeeper, and maybe his lover too. [© 2019 Greg Kerr; Reprinted by permission. All she could see were the steel tracks of the Tunnel of Love ride, the artificial bushes, a few stalled sailing ships, and the 1957 Chevy convertible with the two frozen teenagers in the front seat. A realistic panorama of city lights were shimmering below this hillside overlook. Carissa and Darby, were lying on the plastic grass, in each other's arms, with a full backdrop of mountains painted across the entire wall. They were indoors, like in a motion picture set, but it looked like they were on a "lover's lane" on the outskirts of a city. And now all she could hear was a spooky silence. It was so quiet, she could practically hear her heart beating. Thump, thump, thump... This beautiful lover's lane, a nostalgic little paradise, had turned mean and foreboding. "Let's get out of here," she whispered in Darby's ear, not sure if she was just getting paranoid. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a shadow move. And she looked up just in time to see a white beast leap out from behind a bush. Carissa would not have believed it if she was not seeing it with her own eyes, this ghostly apparition; a white furry creature, ape-like in appearance, and as pale as an albino mountain gorilla. It looked like an abominable snowman; human shaped with a thick coat of polar bear colored hair that covered it from foot to head. The hellish creature was angry, and running towards the kissing couple, attacking, bent on their destruction. Carissa's high-pitched scream echoed a hundred yards through that dark and twisted Tunnel of Love. © 2020 G. Kerr When hard-boiled tough guy detective Darby Weston meets Carissa, a bright-eyed busty blonde bombshell, his heart melts like butter. So when she wants to help him find a crazed killer, he says no, stay home. "What a darling gesture," she says as she grabs her coat and joins the investigation.
