About Monsters of Beverly Hills

HELLO . . . I want to tell you everything I know, but it’s difficult. It all comes back in blips and flashes. Through extensive research into the remaining scientific logs, journals, surveillance video, crime scene evidence, and police reports, I’ve finally come to a point where I can write this story down. But I can’t say that this is entirely my story. It involves a number of people: some living and some dead; some born and some made. It’s important for me to share this story with you because I want you to know, not only WHAT I did but also WHY I did it. But be careful. What follows is not an instructional or a roadmap. It’s a warning. “One of the most exciting books I’ve read recently. Letizia’s homage to Southern California allows readers to envision its cruel beauty and its role in facilitating this medical marvel. Could the son of a billionaire meet both a beautiful struggling musician and a disgraced fertility doctor anywhere other than Los Angeles?!” Jessica Nastal, PhD, Author and Developmental Editor Monsters of Beverly Hills is a modern take on Marry Shelley’s “Frankenstein” set in modern day Los Angeles. The novel examines the imminent reproductive technology at our doorstep and the moral implications that will inevitably follow. About the Author: Albert Letizia is a Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting recipient. He grew up in Chicago and taught himself to write after falling in love with the works of David Mamet and Tennessee Williams. Letizia trained in NYU’s Dramatic Writing Program and later earned a degree from Columbia College. He’s had early theater productions off-Broadway with Ensemble Studio Theater in Manhattan and Serendipity Theater in Chicago. In the wake of an early cancer diagnosis, Letizia became fascinated with the human body and all the tiny miracles that occur inside of us. Professionally, Letizia is a CMS certified Sommelier and has worked in Beverly Hills for chefs Wolfgang Puck and José Andrés. He currently lives in Chicago. Monsters of Beverly Hills is his first novel.
