With a disengaged mother and a tempered father, Sammy relies on Lucy, and together, they dream of a life all their own. Sammy wants to believe in Lucy, but she soon begins to doubt they can make it when a familiar spirit haunts her, a spirit who has warned Lucy of loss in the past. When Sammy overhears Lucy telling her father about their plans to leave, her fears about their father are unleashed, and Sammy's aspirations are shattered.
