About the book

About Hush

The righteous cleanse the earth of all evil... The same looming words dress uncut stone in bright red time and again-a message alerting authorities the unknown cult is far from done. The campus of Duke University is plagued by these serial killers who have kidnapped, dismembered, and arranged eight girls on an altar as a sacrifice to God. Detective Jocelyn Maddox landed the case a year ago, yet no new leads have come to light. Despite the warnings around campus, a law student named Charlotte Scott leaves her friends in a coffee shop and disappears into the night. Now a ninth victim's life hangs in the balance as the fear of another failure looms in Jocelyn's heart. Several towns over, Mia Hughes is stuck in a marriage with her version of Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. Something had been off with her husband Oliver for almost a year. He never used to be violent, but now, Mia walks on eggshells to avoid his wrath and has the bruises to show for her failures. An unexpected encounter with someone from her past brings forth a new level of fury in Oliver, one that lands her in the ER. Questions quickly arise, making it harder to keep Oliver's secret concealed. Mia is left to question what her husband has really been up to. A spiritual war is brewing all around them, one they cannot explain or understand. As angels and demons clash, the clock is ticking. Will they find Charlotte in time? Or will the evil looming conquer them all? ******** Breakout Christian author, Bethany Sustaric is a self-proclaimed recovering hot mess and has lived the testimony of a prodigal who's returned home. As a former paramedic of almost twenty years, she developed a foundation of leadership with compassion and has transferred those same qualities into ministry. Almost seven years ago, an injury ended her career, and when she feared all hope was lost, the Lord mightily showed up. During that time, the Lord taught Bethany how to trust Him and how to battle against the schemes of our very real enemy. She lovingly refers to this season of life as her tailor-made wilderness journey. In that desolate place-the Lord restored a broken woman and tempered her into a warrior. Today, Bethany uses her gifts of writing and speaking to share the Lord's truth. Her passion is to help the church boldly stand on God's Word and teach what it means to be a warrior in His army. Be sure to check out her podcast, Confessions of a Recovering Hot Mess, to learn more. She resides in a small mountain community in Central California with her two daughters, their lovable Pitbull, and two sassy chickens. Sustaric is just warming up as she continues to work on future books, sure to captivate audiences everywhere.
