About Hawaiiana Story A Fantasy, Fact and Folklore Adventure
A tiny bubble burst upon a vast ocean surface that yet, has no name and sees the bright sunshine for the first time a Billion years ago! Intensely, more bubbles continue to pop upon the top of the vast sea, around 500 million years ago! Further, down from far below, sounds like rumbling drums abound and a fiery glow begins to grow! A multitude of explosions are heard and a crack from the underwater land burst open, spilling its slow flowing contents upon the bottom, around 200 million years ago! Up did the fire rise, boiling the water before it, displacing it with new land that grew above it, around 100 million years ago! Molten lava continued to spill and the land mass increased in size, forming a chain of islands. First born, would come to be known as Kauai, then Niihau, and Oahu! The continuing flow of the lava slowly brought forth more children: Molokai, Lanai, Maui, Kahoolawe, and then finally Hawaii, around two million years ago! Barren rock stood above the water reaching for the sunlit sky, as birds from faraway places flew by! Gentle winds and lapping waves began cooling the molten mass and tiny little creatures were born as time slipped past, around 500 thousand years ago! The rains helped nurtured the seeds of life, which had been borne by the wind, birds and water. Life continued to grow slowly until the islands became a paradise, around 200 thousand years ago! All quiet and growing did these islands remain, until one day, the first Inhabitants found their way, around 5,000 years ago! More years passed and more people populated what the fiery lava had wrought. They brought with them their animals, fruits, vegetables and the belief in their many gods, around 1,000 years ago! Thus begins this story!
