Gabe Clancy, infamous 1880's outlaw, gets released from prison and goes back to Cloud Chief, his home, which his Clancy Gang terrorized during their heyday. Now he has to deal with his constantly, Bible-thumping mother, who has never forgiven him, the sheriff who originally arrested him, and former gang members who all remember their exploits quite differently. But his biggest challenge is Hattie Turpin, the feisty owner of the town's museum, featuring Gabe and his boys. When he decides he should take it over, he faces the biggest challenge of his life: a woman who doesn't let him get away with anything.
