About Escape From Moscow (Daniel Kahn Mystery-Thrillers)
Escape from Moscow A Daniel Kahn Thriller WORD HAS REACHED the West in February 1973 that a Soviet nuclear scientist wants to defect. Daniel Kahn, a newspaper reporter for the McGill University newspaper, is being sent to Moscow, ostensibly to report on an international university ice hockey tournament, but really, to sneak the scientist out of the USSR. He is helped by his cousin Charlotte Gordon, a Mossad agent who has been tailing Gerhard Kraus, a former Nazi officer and East German spy, through Europe to Moscow. The cousins discover that the East German government is in cahoots with the Syrians and Soviets who are planning another Middle East war with Israel. Daniel and Charlotte are desperate to deliver this news to the West quickly, but first they must get the Soviet scientist out of Moscow without being caught by the KGB. Their intricate escape bid almost unravels as Kraus confronts Daniel and the scientist at the Luzhniki Sports Palace during an exchange of disguises and forged passports at the final game between University Team Canada and the USSR.
