About Elara Nyx and the Shadow in the Veil

One year after defeating her father, Nyx, and stabilizing her life in the quiet human world of Northglade, ten-year-old Elara Nyx is secretly mastering her Unbound Power with her Elemental Spirit, Glace. She has found peace, confidence, and control-but this fragile balance is shattered when a new, far more dangerous villain emerges. Corvus, Nyx's former research partner and a master of forbidden Extraction Magic, is hunting the source of pure elemental power: Elara herself. After sensing Corvus's attack on the elemental wells in Aetheria, Elara returns to the Academy to find the magical realm weakened and the Archons fearful. With the help of her friends, Lira and Rocco, and the secret guidance of the Archon Seraphina, Elara must master the Apex Stillness-the ultimate form of her unbound magic-to stop Corvus. The confrontation culminates in a massive elemental battle against Corvus's army of Rime-Wraiths (Phantom Wolves). Corvus intends to use all his stolen energy to cast the Grand Containment Spell, permanently freezing Northglade and trapping Elara's mother, Anya, as emotional bait. Elara Nyx and the Shadow in the Veil is the thrilling second book in a new series about finding courage, friendship, and the immense strength of a power that knows no limits.
