Brick Edgerton, better known these days as "Edge", had it all. He had the love of an angel, success, respect, hope, and a long life ahead of him, but the bad guys took it all away. Now the Policeman-turned-Private Eye inhabits the shadowlands of life, making ends meet, moving from one job to another, with few friends, and fewer hopes. He inhabits a twisted world that feeds on human lives even as it holds out a shining dream. Women are at the center of his world, the objects of his desire and distrust as well as the voices crying in the darkness for his help. In his own country...a dark monster feeds on women, virtually unhindered by the system designed to protect them. Edge believes he can stop them or die trying.
