About the book

About Divorce by Murder

In a town too small to warrant notation on any map, a covert form of draconian justice resides. Within the graying space between the laws of Man and God, those who seek fairness seize it in whatever fashion they deem appropriate. Divorce? Father Jack arbores it, while struggling against desires forbidden by virtue of his vows. Criminals, permitted to wander free? Detective Marc Samuel will not have it. The war hero, the by-the-book investigator, rails against injustice and those who attempt to circumvent the law. Should ailing people who are in need of healing, rely on Doctor Mike Sands’ considerable medical talents? If he counts them as unworthy, they risk exiting through the morgue. His form of justice satisfies a most earnest, albeit crude, inclination. Wronged townswomen embrace a particularly ungodly path in the hope of escaping a makeshift system of justice. Unwaveringly they proceed with cold retribution on their minds, unmoved by the bloody form it assumes. Would divorce be a cleaner, more holy solution? When asked, Annie Shine smiles. In the midst of the push and pull of those who seek salvation and justice, only a few unwavering truths remain… Keep your own counsel, do not kiss and tell, and never, ever, whisper a forbidden secret. Trust no one. Not even yourself. And don’t mess with Annie Shine.
