About the book
About Dig 'em Up!: Forty Famous “Natural Deaths,” or Assassinations by Poison?
For as long as man has vied for dominance over his fellow man, the killing of political rivals or upstarts has been standard operating procedure. Often, the assassination comes in a spectacularly overt form -- such as a stabbing, a shooting, or a hurled bomb. Notwithstanding some of the childishly naive explanations implicating, in certain cases, a "crazed lone gunman," reasonable and mature people will naturally and properly suspect that, when such events occur, a conspiracy was afoot and a coordinated coverup is to follow. But there is another form of assassination that is just as old and just as common, if not more so. That is, the silent assassination by poison. Murder by poison automatically comes with built-in "plausible deniability" because the final symptoms of the deceased can mimic those of other "natural causes." For your consideration, "Dig 'em Up!" explores the conveniently timed sudden deaths of 40 famous individuals directly or indirectly tied to the nasty world of politics.
