A priceless Impressionist painting by Frank W. Benson was also stolen from the scene of the murder. Buck investigates despite his animosity with the police and the strong-arm tactics of the Senator’s staff to thwart Buck's inquiry. As he interviews suspects it becomes clear that one of them has ties to an unknown killer. And that shadowy figure thinks Buck is in the way, which has proven to be a tad painful. However, Buck knows he is getting closer. Finding the stolen art may just be the key to stopping the killers, before they destroy even more lives.
