About Darlings, Derelicts & Demons, American Exchange
Five darlings fighting off their own demons, one deceitful derelict, and a foreign land that holds the secrets to an American exchange student's lost night– Fifteen years ago, Jackie Knauss spent a summer as an exchange student in a small Malaysian town. A few days before returning home, a severe accident left her with a damaged brain and fragmented memories of her last night spent in Malaysia with Adelia, a local girl, and her beau, Pau. Present day, Jackie is a successful children's author living in a small Pennsylvania town. She has moved on from her nightmares and memory loss—until the world news flashes his face on the screen. The body of Pau Ming Wang, the son of an influential Malaysian politician, has been unearthed at an excavation site in a small Malaysian town, and Jackie's world stops when she realizes she may have been one of the last people to see him alive. Plagued by Pau's death and her lost memories, Jackie and her four friends travel back to Malaysia. Together they embark on a journey that uncovers more than a missing evening—while one person is devoted to unraveling the events of Jackie's forgotten night, another will do whatever is necessary to keep those secrets buried.
