About Clip
What if your friend became a famous and wealthy artist by stealing your ideas, and then you realized he’d also adopted your past to seduce and marry the only woman you’d ever loved? What would you do? Clip is a psychological thriller about a love triangle enmeshed in the NY and LA art world. It’s written in a mix of first-person confessional narrative, third-person account, and e-mail conversations between the principal characters. This multi-layered novel examines motivations for friendship, the ethics around the theft of ideas, the seductive power and intimacy of e-mail relationships, the dynamics of class struggle, and how our perceptions of reality can be altered drastically by our needs. The characters in this novel are flawed and compelling, revealed through their own voices as well as through the prose, each living from a very different world view and background. Once the inevitable clash occurs, the reader is asked to decide who is telling the truth and whose actions are justified.
