Sofi Wildwood’s home in western Montana is under threat by Sierra Mills, a large-scale natural resourcing company. Sierra Mills wants to harvest Montana’s natural materials, from clean forests to wild game, to serve its clients on the bioweapon-laden west coast for huge profits. The Montanans don’t like that one bit. A deal is struck: In lieu of allowing Sierra Mills to harvest resources and destroy their home, Montanans will pay to offset the lack of profits. Sofi Wildwood makes money any way she can to contribute to the pot, often resorting to shady deals, sly trades, and slick talk. When Sierra Mills ups the stakes and the safety of her people becomes a question, Sofi must take on the riskiest, most dangerous job of her career. If it all pans out, it could save the lives of everyone she knows and loves. And if not…well, everyone dies, anyway.
