About Broken A Gripping Phycological Thriller

Hidden away in a deserted farmhouse is a broken young girl. Orphaned, alone, trapped, and struggling to stay alive.... Confined in a mental hospital, 18-year-old Alice Landon is terrified for her future and even more frightened of her present. When she is interviewed by Detective Inspector Forsyth, her story both shocks and repels him. When Alice's parents are killed in a car accident, 3 years earlier, Alice is left in the care of her mother's older sister, Mary Turner. Alice has never met Mary and wonders why her mother never mentioned she had a sister, or indeed a family. Mary promises Alice a perfect life on her farm in the English countryside. But when Alice arrives at the deserted, run down farmhouse, and meets her creepy uncle Blake and bed-ridden grandfather, she begins to realise that Mary has fed her a pack of lies. Alice begins to plot her escape, but Mary has no intentions of letting her go. When she suspiciously fits a lock on Alice's bedroom door and starts feeding her drugs to keep her sedated, what began as tender loving care, turns into one of the most shocking cases of child abuse ever heard by the Metropolitan police. Imprisoned in her bedroom, starved and physically and sexually abused, Alice pleas in silence that one day she will escape the farmhouse and her wicked Aunt and Uncle. But with them always one step ahead -Alice must fight for her freedom, her sanity, and her life. With sensitive themes, Broken is a thought-provoking novel that displays the depths of human cruelty, and a young girl's fight from tragedy to freedom.
