During a documentary about the homeless, a journalist gets to hear a strange story. She begins to investigate with her partner, triggering a chain reaction that begins with a dead body. Neither the reporter nor her adoptive father, who is a detective and investigates the murder case, suspects that the story and the murder are closely related. Gradually, the heard and unbelievable sounding story proves true and the truth has terrible consequences. Missing women, homeless people who disappeared without a trace and the murder of a colleague of the journalist take her and the detective back to their own past and catch up with them in the present. Too late it becomes apparent that the past holds no future for some people.
