About Batman: Prodigal (2027 Edition)

Dick Grayson becomes Batman in a defining chapter of Gotham’s legacy, now back in print! For the first time, Batman’s greatest protégé steps into the role of the Dark Knight. With Bruce Wayne sidelined following the events of Knightfall, Dick Grayson must take up the mantle of Batman and protect Gotham City alongside a young Tim Drake as Robin. Though he has spent years fighting crime as Nightwing, becoming Batman presents challenges unlike any he has faced before. Gotham’s criminals are more dangerous than ever, the shadow of Bruce Wayne looms over every decision, and Dick must discover what kind of Batman he wants to be. As the new Dynamic Duo confronts gang wars, dangerous criminals, and the aftermath of a changing Gotham City, Dick learns that wearing the cape and cowl is about more than skill or experience—it is about carrying a legacy. Written and illustrated by many of the defining Batman creators of the 1990s, Batman: Prodigal is a landmark story that explores the evolution of Dick Grayson from Robin to Nightwing and, ultimately, to Batman. Collects Batman #512-514, Batman: Shadow of the Bat #32-34, Detective Comics #679-681, and Robin #0 and #11-13.
