Catherine Ramsey is a d direct descendant of an ancient Druid-Celtic clan living in an isolated valley in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, She seeks a mate as strong and as unconventional as she, and the Scottish/Native American tribal clan as she leads, but ancient laws set hundreds of years before must also be followed. Trent Angelenous is an aggressive New York businessman investor who grew up with a single teen mother on the backstreets of Las Vegas, Nevada. Catherine withdraws support of one of his important projects, potentially dooming his company. She becomes ill and leaves his office without an explanation. With a great deal of luck, he travels tot he hidden mountain community to finish their business and become personally acquainted with the unique female leader. They fall in love but ego, money, power, and the pressure of childhood beliefs clash with ancient laws of secrecy, sharing, and philanthropy.
