About A Postcard from Hamburg

1943. WW2 is raging in Europe. Kurt Müller is living in London. While working for British Intelligence he discovers a photograph of his girlfriend, Gudrun, among the possessions of a German agent. Then he gets a postcard from Gudrun, posted in Germany, and he knows the Gestapo has taken her... What readers are saying about the book: JJ Toner has done it again with Postcard from Hamburg. Once I started reading I had to put aside other activities until all the engaging characters had safely returned to England. JJ Toners knowledge of WW II history and German geography leaves the reader wondering if this is fiction or non-fiction. I really enjoyed it. The author did a great job having us follow 2 spies during WW2. 2 different missions, one which can change the issue of the war and the other is a personal mission driven by love. Captivating till the end... The author did a great job of putting me right in that scene, tracing the activities of two spies during a very tense time of history. I liked that he did not spend a lot of time wasting words... Kurt escaped a few too many times. Good thing he wasn't a cat, he would have only had 9 lives. The ultimate mystery. Superbly written, since reading this book I have read all of his novels and enjoyed all. AWESOME! A real page turner.
