Science Fiction
Dragonfall 5 and the empty planet feels much more like a mystery than a straight sci-fi read, which I liked.

The Empty Planet idea is the bit that stays with you. That kind of setup does more work than a lot of bigger, louder space stories. It gives the whole book a slightly eerie edge without needing to over-explain itself.

I’m always drawn to science fiction that lets the unknown do some of the heavy lifting.

That mix of science fiction and mystery is probably why it lingers. The best children’s SF often works by withholding just enough, rather than explaining every oddity away.

I also like when a book’s strangeness is tied to a place, not just a gadget or a plot twist. An empty planet is a better hook than most louder premises, frankly.
