On my Want to Read shelf for the title alone, really. “All Good Things…” sounds like closure, but the premise reads more like the aftermath of a long run than a neat ending.

That’s oddly more interesting to me. Not every space story needs to arrive in a blaze of triumph. Sometimes the quieter question is what’s left once the big missions are done.

That title does a lot of work. It sounds like a finale, but also a bit like the sort of thing that leaves everyone standing around after the credits.

I’m more interested in stories about what happens after the official adventure has finished. Space opera can be very good at the big gesture and less good at the aftermath. That bit is usually where the character lives.
