Science Fiction
A talking Martian tree in a smog-choked Los Angeles is exactly the sort of premise that can go very right or very wrong.
I’ve not read The tree that conquered the world yet, but I’m keeping it on the list for that reason alone. Science fiction gets a bit more interesting when it’s willing to be odd in public. And if the book is half as strange as the setup, it should at least have a point of view.
